Fall 2022 Atelier Mood Board

“For this collection, I layered patterns and textures in a daring manner and played with the idea of a sort of game of reversals, applying rich patterns usually reserved for thicker materials, such as wool, and placing them as prints over softer and lighter fabrics, resulting in an unexpected contrast—a creative approach that has always been part of my process and creative universe.” — Silvia Tcherassi for WWD

Resort 2023 Mood Board

The magic of experimentation from an artistic stand point has always guided Silvia Tcherassi’s creative instincts, and the Resort 2023 collection provided her the perfect excuse to delve into materials and silhouettes from a different angle. Elements of photography, more specifically digital settings, played a role in the elaboration of textiles. Different levels of saturation were tested, as well as contrasts, sharpness and playing with textures while overturning colored patterns to black-and-white.

This experimentation involved a nuanced technological influence that further elevated silhouettes, achieving a fresh take on volume and movement with a remarkably unique feel. Some of the season’s prints are a reinterpretation of house classics, such as floral motifs and our signature stripes, while other fabrics feature geometries inspired by hedge mazes. Jacquard, organza, knits, chiffon, poplin were the materials used for Resort 2023, and for the first time, the brand introduced a textile with a denim-like effect and added embroidered detailing that adequately complemented the other makings in a very Tcherassi manner.

“The color blocking and subtle layering in Mark Rothko’s paintings, the mysterious backdrops in Ed Ruscha’s work and the inherent magic in Cy Twombly’s art all seeped into my Spring 2023 collection.”

ST Collection Spring 2023 Mood Board

“Color-blocking and light layering were among the techniques used in Mark Rothko’s work and an important visual component for Spring 2023.

“Similar to Rothko, I am always attempting
to create a sort of color field for the expression
of emotions,” says Silvia Tcherassi, “warmth, audacity and subtleness were words that continued to come to mind throughout my creative process.”

Beyond the Rothko influence, Ed Ruscha’s
intrinsic mysteriousness—achieved in his backgrounds through use of color and light—also played a key role in the proposal as did the magical abstractions of Cy Twombly. It comes as no surprise that beyond the aesthetic value of all three artist’s work, their art is also thought-provoking and disruptive in the greatest of ways, adding a deeper layer to their masterpieces.”

ST Collection Pre Fall 2023 Mood Board

For Pre-Fall 2023, Silvia Tcherassi captured the cosmopolitan spirit of Coconut Grove along with its one-of-a-kind lively and eclectic essence. A place where several creative industries flourished, thus giving it the title of ‘SoHo of the South’, the fascinating history aroundthis bohemian town lives on to this day. “I opened my first U.S. boutique in Coconut Grove over 25 years ago. Moreover, this is the place that my family and I call home. Its lush vegetation and scenic marinas have served as inspiration for me in the past, but this season, I wanted to do a historical exploration and celebrate its recent resurgence.”

The collection will debut in one of the atriums of the newly-renovated Mayfair House Hotel & Garden, originally designed by sculptor and artist Kenneth Treiser. The landmark has once again reclaimed its status as a Miami icon and adequately illustrates the concept of indoor/outdoor and day/night contrasts that are so present in the Pre-Fall 2023 aesthetic. Transitional by nature, this collection is a toast to evolution that does not lose sight of origin.
